Palin is the husband of Gov. Sarah Palin. He declined comment.

WHY are you Dumbocrats so afraid of the Governor of Alaska?

Why do you feel the need to engage in namecalling? Words like "Dumbocrat" or "Messiah" are meant to ridicule and add nothing to the discussion.

The name "Roger Clinton" comes to mind after reading this. He was the ner-do-well brother of President Clinton. Another one to mention is Obama's aunt, who has been here illegally for years, living off the public dole, and refusing to leave, even though she has been ordered to do so.

So, we got 2 examples of sitting presidents, who have/had family members who are not quite within the law, but yet a FORMER candidates sister-in-law is fair game, as is the rest of her family. How hypocritical.

Afraid? If I could guarantee she'd be the candidate in 2012 I'd send her a check right now!

Well, unless your boy does something, anything, she may be a viable candidate.

If only walls could post what they hear in every household across America...this would be the ant in a landfill.

Who cares about crap like that?

It's NO reflection on Palin. I think she runs Alaska better than the rest of the states combined.

'Messiah' is a term of utmost respect.

It depends on the context. I don't think any rational person attaches Messiah-like qualities to political figures. When you make the claim that another poster views Obama as the Messiah, it is showing a lack of respect to that poster's opinion. It seems to me that much of what you post is done to cause conflict rather than to discuss issues.

I don't think any rational person attaches Messiah-like qualities to political figures, either. However, Obama voters do.

Really? Where is your link to back up your blanket statement regarding Obama voters? Is this just another in your series of incoherent posts?

Sorry, no link - just intuitive knowledge.

If the whole ‘Messiah’ thing really bothers you, sparks, I can always begin referring to Him as He-Who-Deigns-To-Walk-Among-Mere-Mortals.
Would you prefer that?

You title this topic Wasilla Hillbilly Report. Tell me, ever been to Wasilla? I have. Ever been to Alaska? I have. You know, unless you have experienced something, you should keep your opinions to yourself. Or do you base your opinions on what you read in the line at the supermarket? Those people have a hard life, and don't get all of the Federal money you would expect them to. The total population for the entire state is just over half a million people. Lighten up. You'd probably be more credible if you concentrated your efforts toward Gary.

Let's see.....a half sister that gets arrested for burglery,a 17 child who got knocked up by a kid whose mother got arrested by the state police for something to do with drugs. This is like a trailer trash reality show.

All Gary residents don't get a 2069.00 check for just living in the state of Indiana, like Alaskans do for living in Alaska.
Btw,Anyone else see the blatant socialism in that? Razz

The check (total varies from year to year) comes from the oil companies NOT the Alaskan government. Again, if you'd ever been there you'd know that, not just assume that the State sends it. Your turn.

If it was just from the oil companies then why did they need a constitutional amendment? If the permanent fund isn't an example of "wealth redistribution" and socialism,I don't what is.

Quote:
The Alaska Permanent Fund is a constitutionally established permanent fund, managed by a semi-independent corporation, established by Alaska in 1976, primarily by the efforts of then Governor Jay Hammond. Shortly after the oil from Alaska’s North Slope began flowing to market through the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, the Permanent Fund was created by an amendment to the Alaska Constitution to be an investment for at least 25% of proceeds from some minerals (such as oil and gas) sale or royalties. The Fund does not include either property taxes on oil company property nor income tax from oil corporations, so the minimum 25% deposit is closer to 11% if those sources were also considered.

Nothing. That's the same word I would use to describe what your statement has to do with the topic.

Was part of your unique European upbringing a blind arrogance? Yes? Then you might want to consider doing some research before you make statements that are so easily refuted.

Oh, I've been to Alaska twice. For some reason that information seems important to you, so now you have it.

Blind arrogance? I don't think so.
Pointing out the obvious? Yes

Nice "Family Values" touch, taking the 4yr old daughter along on the caper. Rolling Eyes

Diana Palin indicted on break-in charges, pleads not guilty
(04/13/09 11:05:47)

WASILLA - A Palmer grand jury has indicted Diana Palin on burglary, theft and trespass charges related to three break-ins at a Wasilla home.

Palin, 35, is the half-sister of Todd Palin, Gov. Sarah Palin's husband.

Jailed at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility since Wasilla police arrested her April 2, Palin pleaded not guilty during a brief appearance in Palmer Superior Court this morning.

Police say she broke into a home on West Mill Site Circle owned by Theodore Turcott to steal cash. Turcott told investigators he'd lost nearly $2,600 in two prior burglaries, so when he saw an unfamiliar car pull into his driveway, he waited in a bathroom for Palin and confronted her after she headed straight for a cabinet where he kept his money, according to a police affidavit filed by Officer Jentry Crain. Palin's 4-year-old daughter came into the home as her mother was being detained by Turcott, who was armed, police and prosecutors say.

On April 2, police arrested Palin for that day's break-in and also for a burglary March 31 in which nearly $400 was taken from Turcott's home.

The grand jury on Friday indicted Palin for those break-ins, and also for one March 26 in which $2,200 was stolen, according to court documents.
http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/crime/story/758162.html
Turcott's home, near Wasilla's Multi-Use Sports Complex, is about eight miles from the house Palin shares with her husband and two young children near Mat-Su College. Police haven't disclosed any reason she picked Turcott's address.
